Red Noses to Help Kids!

Sometimes we are a little silly here at Asurea. We especially like it when this silliness benefits an important cause and helps needy children. So on May 26th, Asurea employees at our headquarters in Roseville, CA donned spongy red noses to help kids, had a few giggles, and participated in Red Nose Day!

Red nose day is a fundraiser that helps children here in the U.S. and also around the world. The most vulnerable kids get food, water, medical services, and other necessities. The non-profit organization Comic Relief Inc., started the “fun raising” campaign in partnership with major corporate sponsors, and is backed by celebrity endorsements. They work to raise awareness and money, and strive for a world that is one day free from poverty.

Last year, Red Nose Day raised $23 million and Asurea was honored to participate. The organization has raised over 1 billion globally in the past 25 years. This year’s event was kicked off with a celebrity-packed prime time live television show. Elton John, Will Ferrell, Blake Shelton, and Ellen DeGeneres were among the stars who came together for this worthy cause.

Donations and an audience are also generated by the major social media event, with the hashtag #rednoseday. People clown around with the red noses, taking selfies, group shots (groupies?) and then post them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and others. Asurea had a lot of laughs coming together for our red nose group-selfie!

Silly clown costumes aside, we feel good when we can make a small difference. And by taking part in Red Nose Day we are supporting children in need. We know that even a small amount of money can make a big difference in the life a child living in poverty. If you want to join us in all this goodwill, consider making a donation to Red Nose Day.
